Ferenc Kalmár, Deputy Chief of the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence, will focus on adapting NATO's deterrence and defence architecture as one of his main priorities. He has decades of domestic and international experience in the field of security and defence policy: in his previous position, he represented Hungary as a staff member of the Defence Policy Section of the Hungarian Permanent Mission to NATO in the NATO Defence Policy and Defence Planning Committee as Deputy Defence Counsellor, and previously served for 5 years at the Hungarian Embassy in Washington, D.C., as a diplomat in charge of security policy. He completed his university studies at the Faculty of Military Science of the Zrínyi Miklós University of National Defence, Department of Security and Defence Policy.
