Lieutenant Colonel Dr. András Tóth is a prominent expert in the Hungarian Defence Forces and in national military higher education. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Infocommunications and Information Security at the Military Infocommunication Institute, Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training at the Ludovika University of Public Service. He is also the Director of the Tivadar Puskás College for Advanced Studies. Between 2023 and 2024, he was Head of the Department of Communications, having previously worked as a lecturer and assistant professor engaged in education and research activities. Earlier in his career, he gained practical experience as an IT officer and radio platoon commander within the ranks of the 5th István Bocskai Infantry Brigade and the 3rd Miklós Bercsényi Infantry Battalion of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
He studied at the Miklós Zrínyi National Defence University, earning degrees in defence systems engineering and military communications systems engineering. In 2015, he was awarded a PhD in military science and obtained his habilitated doctoral degree in 2023. His professional work has been recognized with several prestigious scholarships and awards, including scholarships from the New National Excellence Program, the Bolyai János Research Fellowship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Master Teacher Gold Medal from the National Scientific Students' Council, and the Silver Badge of the Scientific Association for Infocommunications and Information Technology.
