Dr. Balázs Vizi is a lawyer and political scientist. He earned his PhD in 2006 from KU Leuven. Since 2004, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Public Administration of Corvinus University of Budapest and, following its reorganization, at the Ludovika University of Public Service. Between 2016 and 2020, he served as Head of the Department of International Law at the Faculty of Political and International Studies. He is currently a research professor at the HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences (a Hungarian Academy of Sciences Centre of Excellence). His research focuses on the international legal protection of human rights and minorities. He publishes regularly in both Hungarian and foreign journals and serves on the editorial boards of several domestic and international journals.
