Attila Demkó graduated in History and Political Theory at the Eötvös Loránd University, and received his PhD degree from the ELTE Doctoral School of History in 2008. Since September 2024, he has been a research fellow at the John Lukacs Institute and head of the Strategic Futures Research Programme. Prior to this, he led the Geopolitical Workshop at the MCC and was previously the Head of the Defense Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense, as well as a security policy advisor to the Prime Minister's Office.In 2005 and 2009, he received the Order of Merit for National Defense, degrees III and II. In 2014, he received the Presidential Medal of Honor for his work in NATO.
