Rock Missamou is a dual citizen of Hungary and the Republic of Congo, holding an MSc degree in international water management and water diplomacy. His field of expertise focuses on the strategic use of water as a tool for peacebuilding, climate resilience, conflict prevention, and sustainable development.

His academic work includes a master’s thesis examining the dual role of water: on one hand as a catalyst for cooperation, and on the other as a potential driver of conflict. Through a comparative analysis of Africa and Central Asia, his research provides a nuanced understanding of how governance systems, geopolitics, institutional capacity, and regional dynamics shape water-related cooperation, tensions, and peacebuilding opportunities.

Rock’s professional focus lies at the intersection of Europe and Africa, where he develops and promotes innovative, water-based solutions to address migration challenges, empower youth, strengthen climate change adaptation, and support long-term stability. He has particular expertise in transboundary water systems and hydrodiplomacy, and is experienced in navigating complex policy environments, engaging diverse stakeholders, and fostering cross-regional cooperation for sustainable impact.
