What connects the past to the present? Love, of course. And music. But only if it’s really good.
Lili is a typical girl of our time: lonely, and trying to convince herself that she’s fine with it. But one day, in her parents’ apartment, she finds a bundle of old letters that her mother clearly never intended to show her. Naturally, she doesn’t hesitate for long—she starts reading, and the past comes to life before her eyes…
…a memorable summer in the early 1990s, when three close friends are vacationing at Lake Balaton. Of the three, only Eszter (Franciska Törőcsik) wants to remain faithful to the stiff, uptight boyfriend she left back home. But her carefully planned life—usually followed with almost engineering precision—gets a bit tangled when she meets a guy (Márk Ember) who is laid-back, funny, and has one more great quality: he plays in a band and performs with his friends at the Szigliget beach in the evenings.
What will come of it? Complications? Love? Jealousy? A few kisses? A few slaps? Even more kisses? At the very least. A summer by Lake Balaton reshapes the lives of a group of young people—and even those of their children.
