Dr Viktor Marsai graduated in 2008 from the History-Aesthetics program at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), then obtained a second diploma in security and defence policy from Zrínyi Miklós National Defense University in 2010. Since 2008, he has been a scholarship holder at the Doctoral School of History at ELTE, defending his dissertation on Somali state-building in the spring of 2014. From 2010 to 2011, he worked at the Ministry of Defense. Since 2012, he has been a full-time employee at the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS), initially as an assistant professor, then as an adjunct professor from 2016, and currently serving as an associate professor. Since September 2017, he has been a part-time employee at the Migration Research Institute, becoming its research director in October 2019 and director in 2022. His main research areas include examining African migration processes and the security policy aspects of migration.
