Dr. Gergely Salát, China expert, senior researcher at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and International Economics and head of the Department of Chinese Studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He graduated from ELTE in 2001 with a degree in Chinese Studies, obtained his PhD in 2006 and habilitated in 2012. He teaches Chinese language, history, literary history and politics at the ELTE Chinese Department. Her main field of expertise is the history of ancient Chinese law, especially the criminal law of the Qin and Han dynasties. He is also involved in contemporary Chinese politics and China's international relations. He was awarded a János Bolyai Research Fellowship from 2007-2010.
