She graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration in International Relations in 1992 and obtained her PhD from the same university in 2000. She served as Hungary's ambassador to Madrid and Rome. From 2009 to 2010, she was a Member of the European Parliament. From 2010 to 2014, she served as State Secretary for EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has received numerous awards, including the French Legion of Honour Officer, the Belgian Order of the Crown Commander, the Grand Cross of the Spanish Civil Merit Order, the Medal of Merit of the President of the Republic of Hungary, and the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
