Lieutenant General Ferenc Kajári, Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff. In 1996, he served as a reconnaissance and liaison officer in the Hungarian Technical Contingent (HQ) of the IFOR mission in support of the settlement of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2004, he spent a year as a military observer and EU advisor in the African Union mission in Darfur and later as a reconnaissance officer in the German-led Northern Region of the ISAF operation in Afghanistan. He has also served in Foreign Service, including in Norfolk, then NATO's Atlantic Command, the predecessor of today's Transformation Command. He was the first Hungarian commander of KFOR, heading the NATO mission in Kosovo for one year from October 2021.
