She obtained her law degree from the University of São Paulo and completed her master's and doctoral degrees in legal philosophy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She has served as a visiting professor and researcher at Harvard University, focusing on legal and philosophical anthropology. She teaches courses on Roman law and the introduction to legal philosophy. She was previously a partner at the Gandra Martins Law Firm. She is a member of the Supreme Legal Council of FECOMERCIO, the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy, and the Legal Letters Academy of São Paulo. Additionally, she teaches at the law school of CEU. She is the president of the Ives Gandra Institute of Law, Philosophy, and Economy. Sheis the formerthe undersecretary for women, family affairs, and human rights in the Brazilian Ministry.
