Dr. Tamás Baranyi has received his MA degree in History and American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest in 2010. From 2011 he has worked at the House of Terror Museum as a historian, then, from 2012 to 2015 as Head of Research. He defended his PhD thesis in 2018 at the Department of Modern and Contemporary History at Eötvös Loránd University about the changing elbow-room of Hungrian foreign policy during the era of détente. From 2013 to 2019 he was external lecturer at the same department. From 2015 to 2020 he was Head of Research of the Antall József Knowledge Centre. From 2019 he is Adjunct Professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. From February 2020 he is Deputy Director for Strategy at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs. His research area are the history of the United States and the Cold War, foreign political strategy, and transatlantic relations.
