Dr. Balázs Tárnok is the Director of Research at the John Lukacs Institute for Strategy and Politics of the Ludovika University of Public Service and formerly the Acting Head of the Institute for European Strategy Research. He holds a law degree and a PhD from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. In recent years, he has gained experience in several institutions in the fields of the protection and promotion of national minorities, as well as European Union law and policies. In 2021, he spent a year at the University of Notre Dame in the US as a Hungary Foundation Fellow. He was awarded the Csaba Lőrincz Prize in 2022. He is the Deputy Head of the Károli Interdisciplinary Academy at the Károli Gáspár Reformed University and a minority rights advisor at the Institute for Minority Rights.
