Minister of State for European Union Affairs since 1 August 2023. Previously, he was the Prime Minister's Commissioner and EU Sherpa and also State Secretary for European Union Affairs at the Ministry of Justice between 2022 and 2023. State Secretary to the Prime Minister for European Union Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office between 2021 and 2022. From 2018 to 2021, he was State Secretary for the European Union and International Judicial Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice. From 2017, he was Director of the Hungarian Judicial Academy of the National Office for the Judiciary for one year. From 2016 to 2017, he was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International and European Studies at the Ludovika University of Public Service. In 2001, Bóka János 2001 received his law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged, and in the same year, he completed a specialisation in European Law. In 2006, he obtained M.A. degree in European Integration and Development from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He obtained his PhD in 2013 from the University of Szeged.
