Viktor Eszterhai received his PhD in 2018 from the Doctoral Program in Modern and Contemporary Universal History at ELTE. From 2015 to 2021, he was a senior researcher at the Pallas Athena Geopolitical Institute. Between 2019 and 2021, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Geography, Geoeconomics and Sustainable Development at Corvinus University of Budapest. Between 2021 and 2023, he was a senior researcher at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and between 2023 and 2024, he was research director of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA). He joined the John Lukacs Institute for Strategy and Politics in 2024. His research interests include bilateral relations between Hungary and China, relations between Europe and China, and non-Western schools of international relations.
