He graduated from Kossuth Lajos University and the Central European University in 1993. During his studies, he received numerous scholarships and pursued further studies abroad. In 2001, he obtained his PhD from the University of Debrecen, followed by another PhD from the Central European University (CEU) a year later. His research interests include the history of public opinion and publicity, communication theory, diplomatic history (early modern period, Cold War), history of England/Great Britain, research methodology, and the history of historiography (for PhD students). From 2010 to 2013, he served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, and from 2013 to 2014, as State Secretary at the Ministry of Human Resources. From June 2014, he has been the government spokesperson. Since 2022, he was the Government Commissioner responsible for preparing and implementing the operational tasks of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2024.
