Since 2018, he has served as the Minister leading the Prime Minister’s Office. Between 2017 and 2018, he was the parliamentary group leader of Fidesz. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Chair of the Legislative Committee. He has been a Member of Parliament since 2010. From 2010 to 2017, he was Deputy Group Leader of Fidesz. Between 2010 and 2014, he was a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Justice and Rules of Procedure. He served first as Vice-Chair and later as Chair of the Committee on Human Rights, Minorities, Civil and Religious Affairs. During Hungary’s constitutional drafting process, Gulyás was Vice-Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Preparation of the Constitution. He has been Vice President of Fidesz since 2015. Prior to his mandate as an MP, he worked as a lawyer. He earned his law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Between 2006 and 2011, he was a lecturer at the Department of Constitutional Law at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church. He speaks German and English.
