Dr. Anna Bánáti-Baumann received her PhD degree in 2017 from the Doctoral School of Applied Informatics and Applied Mathematics at Óbuda University, where her research focused on the reproducibility analysis of scientific workflows. She currently works as a senior lecturer at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Óbuda University, and serves as Vice Director of the Institute of Biomatics and Artificial Intelligence.
Her teaching and research activities focus on network security, information security, and cybersecurity. Her main research areas include Security Operations Center (SOC) models and solutions, honeypot-based defensive techniques, cyber range–based cyber exercises, and attack graph–driven analysis.
Her academic work is complemented by industry experience: for four years, she worked as a security consultant at OTB Bank, gaining hands-on experience in information security within a financial environment. Her current research interests include AI-based attack simulation, detection, and response mechanisms in IT, OT, and 5G network environments, as well as the applicability of these technologies in the automotive domain. She regularly organizes cybersecurity exercises and competitions and actively participates in industry collaborations, promoting practice-oriented cybersecurity education and research.
