Prof. Dr. István Grigorszky is a hydrobiologist and Head of the Department of Hydrobiology at the University of Debrecen. His research focuses on freshwater ecosystems, particularly on the water quality and ecological assessment of rivers and shallow lakes. He places special emphasis on the methodology and application of water quality assessment. He is the author of more than 180 scientific publications, with his work closely related to the study of algae and the Tisza river system. In addition to his research, his teaching and academic program development activities play a significant role in hydrobiologist training in Hungary.
