Sérgio Ricardo Costa Felgueiras is now Superintendent and Deputy Chief in ISCPSI. Over recent years, has been distinguished for his role as the Director of Education at the ISCPSI, especially for his work in creating, coordinating, and accrediting study cycles in the field of police sciences, both in Portugal and Europe. With extensive experience in police education, Felgueiras is known for implementing a student-centred pedagogical policy, both in-person and online. The courses he has developed integrate various scientific areas, including Social and Political Sciences, Legal Sciences, and Police Sciences. In terms of teaching, his experience spans two decades across different fields of police sciences, having taught subjects like Armament, Ballistics, Police Strategy and Tactics, Security Technologies, Management and Direction of Security, and Public Order, among others. He is a Scientific Council and Pedagogical Council member at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna. Felgueiras has specialized in distance learning pedagogy and is currently responsible for the digital transition in police higher education in Portugal. Currently, he coordinates the Master's in Public Security and the Bachelor's in Police Sciences. He is an integrated member of ICPOL - Research Centre of the Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna, where he coordinates the Police Work and Organization research line and collaborates with CAPP (Center for Administration and Public Policies) at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (University of Lisbon). His research activity includes participation in 10 international projects and several national projects. Active research projects include APPRAISE, IMPROVE, SmartCFM (Smart Crowd and Flow Monitor), Police KPIs, and Security Technologies. He has published around 30 publications in various formats.
