He is a Hungarian mechanical engineer and astronaut, awarded the Order of Saint Stephen of Hungary. As the second Hungarian research astronaut, he spent 20 days, 2 hours, and 59 minutes in outer space. In January 2022, he applied to the national astronaut selection campaign of the HUNOR Programme, in which a total of 247 candidates began a multi-stage testing process lasting more than two years.
In May 2024, he was selected—together with reserve research astronaut Gyula Cserényi—from the final group of four candidates of the HUNOR Programme as the programme’s primary professional research astronaut. The final phase of his training took place in Houston, United States, with the involvement of NASA and Axiom Space.
On April 29, 2025, the HUNOR Programme announced on its social media platforms that the crew of Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) was scheduled to launch to the International Space Station on May 29.
After multiple delays, his spaceflight took place on June 25, 2025, as part of the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4). In cooperation with Axiom Space, the HUNOR Program, the Indian Space Research Organisation, and the European Space Agency, a mission sent two mission specialists and one pilot, alongside a commander, to the International Space Station.
