Dževada Šuško is a university lecturer in International Relations at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) and also serves as the Chief of Office for International Cooperation at the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Formerly, she was an Assistant Professor at the International University of Sarajevo and the Director of the Research Institute IITB in Sarajevo. Raised in Germany, she completed most of her studies in history, political science, and cultural anthropology at the Universities of Heidelberg and Hamburg, including several stints abroad in Florence, Madrid, Ottawa, and Ramallah. In 2022, she was awarded a fellowship by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for conducting research at CETOBAC in Paris, focusing on the Bosniak diaspora. The upcoming year, 2024, will see the publication of her book "Faith and Loyalty: Bosniaks under Austro-Hungarian Rule". Her academic interests include European Politics, Islam and Muslims in Europe, migration and diaspora studies, and interreligious relations. She has authored numerous publications in Bosnian, English, German, and French, notable among them being "Coexistence of Jews and Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Examples of Tolerance from the 16th Century to Today" (2021) and "Both Muslim and European: Diasporal and Migrant Identities of Bosniaks" (2019).
