The Subtones was founded by trumpeter Gábor Subicz in 2019, and has grown into one of the newest and most unique formations of the Hungarian jazz-pop scene. Their music is based on the foundations of groove jazz funk, but they boldly venture beyond genre boundaries. Singers Vera Jónás and Flóra Kiss make the sound of the group really unique. In 2022, they were runners-up in the final of the show A Dal.
